flight to death valley national park
You guys… this day was an ADVENTURE. Shane just got his pilot’s license, so we decided to FLY to death valley to take their photos!! We were slightly behind schedule, so I wish we had more daylight, but we landed at the tiniest runway I’ve ever seen. It had no airport, no humans or civilization in sight. We knew the sand dunes were only 3 miles from the runway, but with daylight quickly leaving us, we didn’t think we would make it. Sarah found a road that was walking distance, and after asking about 5 or 6 cars if they wouldn’t mind giving us a ride, we finally found a nice young man who was willing to take all 3 of us!! We literally hitchhiked to the dunes! The sun had set, so we only had a little bit of dusk to work with. On our way back, we witnessed the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. Unfortunately, we noticed our plane was broken when we got back… so we emergency landed in Vegas for the night. It was an unplanned, amazing two days to say the least. Thank you Shane and Sarah for having me and rolling with all the punches!!
